Staff Picks: Penn State Football Jerseys With The Name We Want Most

0

Nearly eight years after pulling players’ jerseys from shelves, Penn State football is bringing them back next fall thanks to a new partnership with Fanatics.

Now that fans will once again be able to purchase their favorite Nittany Lion jersey, our staff members have happily brainstormed what subjects they would like to wear.

Frankie Marzano as Ji’Ayir Brown

Who wouldn’t want to wear number 16 after Ji’Ayir Brown’s 2021 season? The New Jersey native finished the year with 55 solo tackles and four interceptions, even returning one for a touchdown. Now that security is back for the 2022 seasonI think this one will be a popular buy.

Dana NunemacherSam Ficken

Give me my number 97. I’m Sam Ficken’s biggest fan, and I’ll fight you on it. He’s a perfect human being and he can do no wrong. Penn State, please allow my college dreams to come true. sam i love you <3

Megan Kelby: Kalen King

Currently worn by cornerback Kalen King, the #4 jersey would be my first choice from the new Fanatics collab. Playing in nine games as a true freshman during the 2021 season, King proved his place in the Penn State defense with notable performances against Rutgers and in the Outback Bowl.

With all that promise for a sophomore, a No. 4 jersey seems like a good investment. On top of that, the jersey once belonged to running back Journey Brown before his medical retirement. The unnamed jersey could pay homage to the greatness Brown has shown in a short time and the would-be king is showing now.

Sam Fremin: Dani Dennis-Sutton

With the fickle nature of modern college football, if I have to buy a player’s jersey, I want to be for the long haul. incoming five stars Defensive rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton is poised for stardom, and I expect him to be an early contributor. Also, non-90 jersey numbers on the defensive line look so clean for some reason. I’m here for issue 33.

Will PeglerDae Sean Hamilton

DaeSean Hamilton must be one of the most underrated members of Penn State’s storied 2016 team. The Virginia native made 34 catches on that magical run, including eight catches worth 118 yards in the Big Ten Championship game, and only produced one clip higher in his senior season. in 2017. Hamilton also left Penn State with a career-high 214 catches.

Jahan Dotson has obviously made number 5 his own over the past few seasons, but I’d love to rock it in honor of Hamilton.

Matt DiSanto: Everything Drew Allar Wears

After quickly going through his official Penn State Athletics profile, it appears five-star prospect Allar has yet to pick a jersey number. No problem. I’ll be patient and wait my turn to pick up threads honoring Penn State’s golden child quarterback of the future. Presumably he would wear No. 14 once it is no longer used by “returning choke” Sean Clifford.

Gabe AngieriTank Smith

Why the hell wouldn’t I want to rock #38 Tank Smith? It’s Tank Smith, folks.
