In what is perhaps the most Brooklyn never-before-seen crossover: the Brooklyn Nets will adopt jerseys inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat for its next season.

From what looks like authentic images, which leaked earlier this week, the Nets plan to honor Basquiat with a City Edition uniform inspired by his work. It was then confirmed that the jerseys will debut next season.

The jersey is black with “BKLYN NETS†in a scribble reminiscent of Basquiat’s handwriting. A rainbow border describes the jersey, which also features the artist’s signature, as well as his famous crown design, placed just above the NBA logo. The Nike swoosh is also designed to match the style shown in two-tone blue and gold.

This new design is part of the NBA’s “City Editions” line of jerseys, which are redesigned every year for league teams. In 2019, the Nets graced another Brooklynite, Notorious BIG, with a special jersey calling out his neighborhood of Bed-Stuy.
