Prince George’s super cute £38 shoes he wears to his posh London school

Prince George attended his first day of school in 2017 and made headlines for his adorable school uniform. His father, Prince William, dropped him off at Thomas’s Battersea School the same day.

At the time, Prince George was just 4 years old and wore a school uniform consisting of shorts, a button-up shirt and a navy blue sweater with the school logo. He was also wearing a pair of loafers and it wasn’t long before fashion bloggers were identifying the £42 shoes (which were £38 at the time).

He will probably have gone through several pairs already, but the shoes have remained a popular choice among customers since he wore them for the momentous occasion.

The royal blogger “What Kate’s Kids Wore” was the first to decipher the brand of shoes he wore. She asked the brand to confirm if she was right in an exchange on Twitter. They responded by saying: ‘Based on recent orders, we believe this may be the case’, suggesting that one of the royal relatives placed the order themselves.

Prince George wore a pair of dark loafer-style loafers from Pisamonas UK. The style, known as “school loafers”, can be found here. At the time they were just £38 but have since risen to £41.95 and can be had in navy and black.

The Thomas’s Battersea uniform is only available for purchase from the Peter Jones store in Sloane Square, or alternatively, from the school’s thrift store.

The boys at the reception must wear the navy blue jacket, jersey and Bermuda shorts that Prince George wore. In winter, they add a red polo neck and knee high socks.

Thomas’s Battersea is an £18,000 a year preparatory school in London and is a short drive across the Thames from Kensington Palace.

That day, Prince William led his son through the school gates and helped him out of the car. The duo held hands and walked to the school entrance. Meanwhile at the time, Princess Kate was at home, pregnant with their third child and suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, or acute morning sickness.

Prince William and his son Prince George were greeted by Helen Haslem and the youngster shook her hand before heading to his first lesson. He joins a class of 20 students.

Headmaster of Thomas Day Schools in London, Ben Thomas, said at the time that Prince George would not get special treatment. He said: “We’re going to try to make this a really happy, safe and secure time. I hope he has the confidence to be himself with all his quirks, idiosyncrasies and characteristics – that’s is what I would want for all of our children.”

Previously, stars such as singer Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), model Cara Delevingne and comedic actress Charlotte Ritchie have attended the school.

The Good Schools Guide described the school in Prince George as: “A large, bustling and slightly chaotic school for cosmopolitan parents who want their children to have the best English education money can buy.”
