Kanye West brought his staple utilitarian style to Balenciaga’s Spring 2023 shoe – with a runway-ready twist.
The singer left the New York Stock Exchange after seeing Demna’s latest collection in an all-black outfit. His ensemble featured a long black hoodie under a black leather coach jacket with a pointed collar. The ensemble was completed with a pair of black jeans.

When it comes to footwear, however, Ye stepped up her look with a pair of Balenciaga platform boots. In fact, the style debuted on him before the show — where he was actually part of the collection. Her style featured thin ridged soles and extremely rounded toes, with calf-high uppers. The pair gained in fantasy thanks to its enlarged silhouette, reminiscent of classic combat boots. Finishing the pair was laces tied up, giving her all-black outfit that extra edge.

Held in the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange – the bell ringing of which signaled the start of the show – the Spring 2023 runway models stepped out in Adidas x Balenciaga pieces. They also donned the latest from Demna, which included oversized suits, pussy-bow blouses, and classic outerwear layered over latex bondage suits. The front of the shoes ranged from pointed stilettos to oversized lace-up combat boots. The collection also included Balenciaga’s new collaboration with Adidas, a range of versatile pieces in a predominantly black, red and white color palette with blue and gray accents, priced between $210 and $5,500. The merged clothes Classic adidas athletics with the subversive and sporty aesthetic of Balenciaga, with t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, socks and track jackets with different logos – mainly the “Balenciaga” lettering next to the three leaves and the triple stripes Iconic Adidas. On the front of the shoe, the collaboration features two sneaker styles Triple S and Speed from Balenciaga, featuring Adidas’ stripe and leaf logos. Available for a limited time at Balenciaga website until May 29.
Besides Ye, the front row also included stars like Alexa Demie, Vera Wang, Chloë Sevigny, Megan Thee Stallion, and Pharrell Williams, among others.

Ye’s appearance at the show comes shortly after he announced that Yeezy Gap – his collaborative line with affordable brand Gap – would release a collection co-designed with Balenciaga. Since the collaboration was announced earlier in February, the first version is already out and sold out. The second collection follows suit with sportswear references and links with everyday casual wear. He also strongly mimics West’s current aesthetic, where he’s been spotted in casual monochrome black outfits often complemented by chunky vintage work boots. In fact, his Red Wing boots worn earlier this year went instantly viral – with even a pair sold for $3,000 on eBay.
However, Ye is recent Clip “The life of the party” also serves as a teaser for fans before the collection officially drops on May 25 at 9 p.m. ET, 6 a.m. PT, and 3 p.m. CT. Besides password protected YeezyGap.compieces from the collection will also be available on the Farfetch, MyTheresa and Luisa Via Roma websites.
