What did Anderson think of the sons?

“We wanted to do something cool and be a little bit authentic. I think it’s more authentic than it gets, having ‘Southside’ up front,” he said on Friday. “It’s relevant. Just using that term certainly makes it a lot more realistic for people who grew up on the South Side and have been fans of the Sox their entire lives.

“It’s not overdoing it, just doing exactly what’s right. I think these uniforms definitely describe the city, and it doesn’t get more authentic and real and relevant than that.”

While the Chicago Sports Depot, the team’s official store at Guaranteed Rate Field, had hoodies and hats late Friday afternoon, fans looking for jerseys will have to wait until next week to get their. The next opportunity to get them at the Chicago Sports Depot is June 4-5.

The White Sox will wear the field uniform against the Detroit Tigers on June 5.
