Tracee Ellis Ross shines in yellow. The “Black-ish” star shared a series of photos on her Instagram feed Thursday that showed her in a colorful look suited for the fashion star while promoting her new single, “Legacy.”

In the caption of the post, Ross wrote, “I borrowed a chic unused look from a @waymanandmicah photo shoot and added my pants and boots to give it my own style. Also, I got to see the video for the song @patternbeauty LEGACY playing on a billboard in Times Square! 💛”

For the outfit, Ross donned an assortment of pieces from Lapointe and Christopher Kane. In addition, she wore a transparent yellow trench jacket with long sleeves and an elegant lapel. Underneath, she wore a bright yellow short-sleeved t-shirt that incorporated a multicolored graphic print dotted across the front of the garment. On the lower half, she put on baggy pants the same yellow as the puffy-leg shirt.

On the front of the shoes, Ross donned a pair of off-white soft pointed toe boots. The shoes have white leather uppers and a heel height of approximately three inches.

When it comes to Ross’ essential clothing tastes, she tends to prefer trendy, sophisticated pieces that emphasize design and whimsy. Recently, Ross wore a punchy pink velvet Versace dress paired with pink platform pumps by the same brand for an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” And also, we saw Ross wearing a monochromatic white look consisting of a coat, plunging bodysuit and matching pointed pumps for an edgy look.

The “Mixed-ish” star has also made a name for herself in the fashion industry, having starred in campaigns for brands like J. Crew, Kenzo and Pyer Moss.
