The Golden Knights’ third jerseys are shameless Vegas

After a few years of waiting, the Vegas Golden Knights have finally released their highly anticipated third jerseys, and yes, they’re gold.

The Golden Knights have never been shy about embracing the spirit of the city they call home, and honestly, nothing could be more Vegas than these sparkly, sparkly jerseys.

The shirts are similar to the team’s home and away shirts in design, with color changes. According to the Golden Knights, the jersey is the “NHL’s first all-metal gold jersey” and seeks to embrace the “bold and bright” Vegas community. Like the team’s other jerseys, the nameplate and numbers will be black with a white border. The gold jerseys also feature a cool, embossed design on the white armband.

Here’s the thing about Vegas jerseys. It doesn’t matter if they are aesthetic or not. Personally, I think they look like cheap polyester figure skating costumes and the sequins are firmly in the realm of kids under 5, but there’s no denying that Vegas is going wild in Vegas with them, and that’s worth worth celebrating.

Maybe you sincerely love them or think they’re an abomination, but what matters is that they have personality and what the NHL desperately needs right now is personality. . The third jerseys are certainly a glanceand in a culture as conservative as the NHL, draping tall, manly men in sequins is a fine and subtle repudiation of traditional masculinity.

I love Vegas’ over-the-top pregame shows, their showgirl aesthetic, and their refusal to be embarrassed by parts of Vegas that some people despise. They’re shameless of the city, and this city is all about bright lights, showgirls, gambling, and lots of flair.

Either way, it doesn’t matter if that’s your aesthetic or not, what matters is that Vegas is all about Vegas.

“It’s the lifestyle aspect,” Golden Knights chief marketing officer Brian Killingsworth said. “It’s not just a hockey jersey, but it’s a fashion statement.”

And yes, it certainly is.
