Puma goes glamorous with a new collaboration with Baby Phat.
The brand’s debut collection, inspired by early it-girls – like Simmons herself, who founded Baby Phat in 1999 – features Puma’s sleek, recognizable sportswear mixed with Baby Phat’s stylish drama and sells out between $25 and $110 with a release scheduled for August 17. .
The line notably includes fitted tees, bike shorts, a bralette and a cropped zip-up jacket, all in shades of pink, black and white. For an added edge, all are embossed with shimmering gold Puma and Baby Phat embroidery, as well as printed logos of both brands.
As for footwear, Puma gave its Mayze sneakers a baby phat makeover with white and pink leather uppers. Quilted stitching covers the shoe’s upper, while textured outsoles highlight its platform soles. The brand has also launched a sleek Mayze slide with pink and white tiger print padded soles, as well as similarly textured pink outsoles on white ridged soles. Thick crossover straps covered in pink faux fur complete the pair with a feminine punch.
Highlighting the brand’s full-loop moment, Puma also released a campaign featuring Kimora, Ming and Aoki Lee Simmons. The mother-daughter trio pose against city skylines and cars for the occasion, dressed head-to-toe in the collaboration. The campaign echoes their many modeling, projects as well as the trio’s own Baby Phat campaigns over the years – including their 2021 launch for Baby Phat Beauty.
The Puma x Baby Phat collection will be available on August 17 on the Puma website, as well as on the Foot Locker and Champs Sports websites, as well as in their selected stores.
However, this isn’t the last we’ll see of the duo; new Puma x Baby Phat styles will also be released later in 2022.
