Every week, our inbox is full of news on gear, clothing and tech news from around the world. In this feature we will analyze the best of them. Today: Harley Davidson’s new eBike, a sparkling citrus refreshment from Boston Beer Co., and an Ikepod dive watch.
Series 1 Mosh / Homage
Mosh / Tribute is a limited edition electric bike from Harley-Davidson, which was released last October only as a prototype. This is now a reality, although they keep production of this bike – which aims to look like a first Harley motorcycle – to a few hundred.
Tentree Treeline canvas jacket
It’s fall style season, which means you’re stuck trying to decide where you’re going to spend your jacket budget. Sustainability-conscious brand Tentree offers a full range of options as part of their new collection of essential outerwear, but the piece that intrigues us the most is this Treeline canvas jacket, which is touted as 99% compostable. This is because it is made of a textile that uses fibers from dried kapok tree fruits. Apparently all you have to do is remove the pimples when you’re done and this thing will come back to nature. It is certainly worth a place in your outerwear arsenal.
Long drink Bevy
The Long Drink was commissioned by the Finnish government in 1952 before the Helsinki Olympics. There, it’s a gin, grapefruit and tonic. Here we once had a successful ready-to-drink (RTD) variant, and now Boston Beer Co. is releasing its own. Available in November in two flavors (Sparkling Citrus Refresher and Sparkling Berry Refresher), this buzzing variation won’t have real spirits, but will use flavors of citrus and wild juniper berry.
Limited Edition Stan Smith Prime Green Spikeless Golf Shoes
In honor of the best golfers from Europe and America who compete in Wisconsin this weekend, Adidas designed a limited edition Stan Smith golf shoe that pays homage to the black and white cows that provide the milk. that America’s Dairyland is known for. Supplies are very limited, so act fast if you want these spikeless kicks, which are made with Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials.
We’re also not sure how to pronounce it, but IKEA’s new wireless charger can be mounted under a table (wood or plastic only) or desk so you can surreptitiously power your phone.
Pickled cucumbers inspired by Hendrick’s and Katz’s Delicatessen gin
Completed in a two-step brining process that takes more than three days, the limited edition Hendrick’s Gin and Katz’s Delicatessen Gin-Inspired Pickled Cucumbers are the very first collaboration between the famous Scottish distillery and the iconic delicatessen of New York. Made with a recipe that includes whole juniper berries and cubic berries, the semi-sour pickles will begin shipping nationwide for a limited time starting September 27. The first forgotten
Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, along with Bob Glauber, features four black players (Kenny Washington, Woody Strode, Marion Motley and Bill Willis) who broke the NFL color barrier in the 1940s, up to a year before Jackie Robinson did the same in MLB.
Ikepod Seapod Dive Watches
Ikepod watches are not for everyone. But they are most certainly intended for a certain eccentric corner of the watchmaking world, which is why the brand founded by Marc Newson has found a second life. Today, they’re offering revamped versions of their classics, and now a diver-style version of the UFO silhouette called Seapod. There are three versions available, one all black, one with orange accents, and one with blue accents and a matching blue silicone strap. This is the main differentiator as they all feature 46mm cases, 200 meters of water resistance and Miyota automatic movements.
Turbo Vado 5.0
Part of Specialized’s growing line of premium e-bikes, the next-generation Turbo Vado gives riders a smooth ride to work or play without breaking a sweat. Offering a number of different e-boost options to allow riders to pedal as much or as little as they want, the Vado has a fully removable battery for easy charging and can also be linked to the Mission app. Specialized’s Control, which turns off the motor making the bike unusable for would-be thieves is a snap.
Todd Snyder Japanese Snap Quilted Down Bomber Jacket in Orange
Available in three colors – although we prefer orange – this decidedly cool puffer jacket is based on a vintage 1960s mountaineer jacket. Now it features diamond-quilted Japanese nylon, down padding, metal buttons and ribbed cuffs and collars.
Made from a blend of soy wax and with cotton wicks and hints of “smoky charcoal, new jersey and crowded bleachers,†this is the official tailgating candle. Burn this guy on game night at home and breathe in all the thrills that come from sitting in the parking lot outside the stadium on a cool fall day while enjoying a crisp boy.
Rowing Blazers by Jack Carlson
The Blazers are back, baby! Well, Rowing blazers, to be exact. RB founder Jack Carlson’s captivating ode to all things preppy is back after more than a year, and believe us when we say it was worth the wait. The hardcover photo book is packed with ivy-centric images, exquisite detail, and of course, the instantly recognizable Rowing Blazer philosophy. Rowing blazers deserve a place in the living room of your sprawling New England estate, for sure, or at least on your coffee table.
