Nicki Minaj is slowly becoming her own personal stylist and makeup artist, which makes us wonder: is there really something that she can’t do?
The “Roman’s Revenge” rapper made her style debut on Instagram last night in a Louis Vuitton look. The outfit included an aviator-style leather jacket covered in LV logos and layered over ribbed black shorts. To make the outfit really pop, Minaj added a few of her favorite accessories, including oversized sunglasses, chunky anklets, and sparkly sandals.

Anklets became a staple accessory throughout the 90s and have since seen a revival alongside a revitalization of major style trends of the 90s, including square-toed shoes, mom jeans and platforms. In 2020, anklets were an easy way to add glitz to an ensemble, even when walking barefoot in the comfort of your own home. The newly blonde rapper cast pieces from the British luxury house on Tuesday night, shared on Instagram with her 153 million followers. The outfit included a sports bra-style bralette and tie-waist swim shorts, both covered in an iconic Burberry brown check print.
In addition to her trendy anklets, the “Super Bass” musician has also released another must-have shoe style for summer: flip flops. Flip-flops also returned to the celebrity scene last year as one of its biggest trends and has stuck in 2021 already.
From classic thongs to flip-flop heels, the minimalist silhouette is in line with the aforementioned ’90s-inspired fashion revitalization. Minaj’s pair in particular appeal to Alexander Wang for their Julie studded silhouette, a 4.25-inch pair that typically sells for $ 595 but is on sale for $ 411 at Ssense and Saks.
As for her go-to style, Nicki Minaj’s outfit yesterday matched the rapper’s eccentric taste perfectly. On any day, you can find the Grammy-nominated artist in everything from a Fendi mesh dress to 7-inch Pleaser heels and Brother Vellies custom lace-up sandals; more recently, her go-to picks even include Chanel-charmed Crocs clogs. In his closet are also models of shoes from Tom Ford, Christian Louboutin and Alexander McQueen, among other brands. Its top clothing brands also include Versace, Marc Jacobs, and Burberry.
Beyond her personal style, the “Bang Bang†rapper has also been the face of campaigns for Adidas, Pepsi and Diesel in addition to creating her own unique capsule with Fendi in 2019.
