ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Two current Cardinals players have some of Major League Baseball’s most popular jerseys. A new listing from MLBShop.com says fans wear the names of Yadier Molina and Nolan Arenado on their backs to show their support for the team. It is based on the number of Nike player jerseys since the end of the 2020 playoffs.

Perennial All-Star Mookie Betts has Major League Baseball’s most popular player jersey. The Los Angeles Dodger is also the only player to have placed in the top five of the list playing in both the National League and the American League.

The list includes the combined sales of previous and current teams. Third baseman Nolan Arenado arrived for the Cardinals in February from the Colorado Rockies in a mega-deal. The Cardinals send five players to the Rockies, but none of the organization’s elite prospects. Colorado sent the Cardinals up to $ 50 million as part of the deal.

Yadier Molina says St. Louis has always been his first choice when it comes to playing this season. Molina and the Cardinals signed a one-year contract with the free agent in February.

Molina said he was happy to be back. He said the city, the franchise, teammates and coaching staff helped him make the decision to stay in St. Louis. As for Molina’s future, he has said for now that he will take it one year at a time.
