One of the things we miss the most in life before the Megxit is the Meghan Markle style sightings. Of course, we do occasionally get public appearances or Zoom calls, however, our OOTDs from the Duchess of Sussex have dropped significantly.
It’s not that we’re not happy that Meghan and Harry are living their California dream, but selfishly we miss the glitz, glamor and the introduction of cool new brands that come with regular royal engagements.
Because, in addition to the thousand dollar dresses and heirloom diamonds the Duchess had in rotation, Meghan Markle also presented us with one of our favorite shoes: the Veja V-10 sneakers (store here in Canada, here in U.S).
The mother-of-two put the brand in the spotlight in 2018 when she wore the durable V-10 sneakers during a royal engagement in Australia.
The comfy, fair-trade sneakers are made from sustainably sourced materials including wild rubber from the Amazon, organic cotton, rice waste, and recycled plastic bottles.
Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton has been spotted in stylish tennis sneakers a few times, most notably during her recent visit to the Natural History Museum in London, England.
“I feel like a princess”
Nordstrom buyers call the Meghan Markle-approved shoe “must-have” and say it is “perfection in a sneaker.”
“I feel like a princess,†says a customer.
“They are chic and comfortable,†wrote another. “I keep getting compliments on them.”
Buyers say the Veja V-10 sneakers cut faithfully and are easy to style. “I [feel] very stylish wearing them, “wrote one reviewer.” They go with everything. “
However, a handful of buyers note that durable sneakers take some wear and tear to break in, which is something to keep in mind before placing your order. “Definitely very stiff leather at first, but they will wear out,” one buyer warns.
“The break time for me was two full days of wear… walking 5-6 miles each day. On the third day they were super comfortable.â€
Verdict
Sleek and stylish, these classic tennis shoes with a twist are a kings (and buyers) approved buy for fall. However, if you are looking for a shoe with no break-in period, you might want to do without it.
