Kristen Stewart’s Cannes Combat Boots Can Be Worn With Any Outfit

The second week of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival is underway and the program is filled with highly anticipated screenings of Austin Butler’s latest feature Elvis to the David Bowie documentary Lunar reveries. Celebrities arrive in Cannes not only for screenings and parties, but also to take part in press promotions if they themselves appear in the films. By accepting this invitation, the stars are instructed to present themselves in looks worthy of the red carpet. The latest to accept this fashion challenge was Kristen Stewart, who paired combat boots with denim shorts while strolling the coastal town on May 23.

Stewart argued for wearing the chunky boot in the summer, as the shoe is usually worn with fall/winter clothes – think leggings and sweaters or a cute mini dress with a leather jacket. Instead of wearing shoes with a comfortable look, however, she opted for a pair of baggy denim shorts and white mid-calf socks. The casual look tapped into Stewart’s penchant for West Coast casual wear. It should be noted however that his pieces were luxurious despite their nonchalant designs. Her crop top was by Chanel while the Fleur Du Mal boxer briefs peeked out from under her denim cut-offs. In keeping with the rockstar feel of this look, she shielded her eyes with dark tinted sunglasses and sported a chunky silver chain necklace with an oversized keyhole charm dangling from it. The finishing touch to the daring ensemble was, of course, her black lace-up combat boots.

Whatever your style preference, Stewart’s out-of-town outfit proves that the combat boot is a staple in everyone’s closet. For the warmer days ahead, pull out a page from her book and wear the shoes with a pair of denim shorts and a t-shirt when you’re out for coffee or meeting friends for lunch. If you’re looking to dress down the chunky shoe, try pairing it with a flowy maxi dress.

Although the designer of his shoes is unknown at this time, there are plenty of similar styles available for you to shop ahead. While you typically go for contemporary and classic designers, look to luxury fashion houses like Gucci and Jimmy Choo for high-end versions of the boot that are made to last. On the other hand, if you want to support smaller brands like Ukrainian brand Kachorovska, shop their selection of combat boots that come in a variety of hues.
