“I grew up wearing only two different types of shoes, the Chuck Taylor and the Nike Air Max,” Nahmias told FN in a pre-show call. “So basically I merged my two favorite sneakers into one and added a few of my own details to create this style.”

At the show, Nahmias showed off a total of five colorways of the new Five-O sneaker – black, orange, blue, black tie-dye and green tie-dye. “We created the tie-dye canvas in our studio in Los Angeles and then sent it to Italy for the production of our show,” Nahmias added.

He also admits that although he showed many colors, he plans to release the shoe in a limited fashion with only the black colorway initially. “I posted a preview of the shoes on my Instagram a few days ago and some of the buyers from our major retail partners DMed me and said they wanted to wear them,” Nahmias said. “But, for this rollout, we will choose one key gate per city to sell the shoes in-store only at 10 locations. Then we will also roll them out on our website.

When asked if he plans to expand his footwear offering, Nahmias told FN that he is already starting another silhouette which he will unveil later this year. And he’s open to creating more styles in the future, but for now he plans to stick with what he knows: sneakers.

“For now, I plan to stick to just sneakers because that’s what I grew up with and what I know,” he admitted. “And I try not to really design outside of my roots of what I know and my brand’s DNA. But I’m sure as the brand grows and we have to expand the categories, we will begin to dive into different avenues.
