Bella Hadid has never come across a Y2K trend she didn’t want to try, and her latest look showcases one of the most iconic (and divisive) shoe options of the 2000s: the UGG boot.
The model was photographed in New York on September 19 wearing the new UGG Classic Ultra Mini Platform Shearling Short Boot with a pair of white micro shorts, a graphic tee and a very Y2K black and blue leather jacket. She styled her look of UGG boots and shorts with white mid-calf socks worn ruffled, a pair of wraparound black sunglasses, a headband, and a slice of New York pizza (jealous) for the ultimate off-duty vibe with a signature Bella Hadid street style twist.
Although new, the short boot is already a favorite. Bella’s sister Gigi Hadid was spotted in the comfy and snuggly platform boot, as were Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and Adut Akech.
The style, which resembles a classic mini UGG boot but features a two-inch platform, is also going viral on TikTok, thanks in part to a video from designer @tariromakoni, who shared her thoughts on the latest look. centered on Bella’s UGG. “Why isn’t anyone talking about the fact that it’s now fall? Fall means comfort, comfort means UGGs. What UGGs do we buy? I need us to have a conversation,” she says in the video. “Of course, when Bella wore them…I had to ask, ‘Let me mind my business and subtly warn my daughters that you are about to be brainwashed by these boots.”

According to TikTok, we will be will all wear the Classic Ultra Mini Platform this season. The boot is now the centerpiece of style videos and is considered “the only shoes I’ll be wearing this fall.” Users post unboxing videos of their fresh new pairs and post videos of Bella in the boots as the reason they bought – some users even bought them before getting up for the day!
The Bella Hadid effect has spoken, and the Classic Ultra Mini Platform Boot is here to stay. It’s currently in stock at most retailers, but we have a feeling that’s about to change. But don’t worry, UGG also has plenty of similar styles, which we’ve rounded up below:
