Want to dress like the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy? Good, star wars has teamed up with DC Shoes to make this a possibility.

  • StarWars.com shared a preview of DC Shoes’ new Boba Fett collection.
  • The collection includes a jacket, a t-shirt and of course a pair of shoes.
  • DC went for a more subtle look that wasn’t necessarily overtly Star Wars. On closer inspection, fans will find details like the mythosaur skull and text written in the Star Wars alphabet, Aurebesh.

  • The collection is just one of five new capsules created by Star Wars x DC Shoes to celebrate the original characters from the trilogy, with a new line tailored for fans of rebels, Imperials and notorious bounty hunters falling on July 9.
  • Characters featured in the collection include:
    • luke skywalker
    • dark Vador
    • R2-D2
    • Stormtroopers
  • All five capsules nod to the heroes and villains they were based on with designs that are right at home in DC Shoes’ biggest catalog.
  • The designers worked hard to tap into each character’s personality and textures rather than trying to recreate the exact look of their costumes.
  • The key was to design items that people would actually want to wear, but were still undeniably linked to Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Boba Fett. The collection includes shoes, hats and apparel, including a tongue-in-cheek T-shirt collection inspired by high school yearbooks that labels R2-D2 as “the savviest”, Darth Vader as “father of the year” and allows the stormtroopers to claim “Best Smile”.
  • As for Bob Fett, in keeping with his character, DC Shoes crowned him “Most Notorious”.

  • The collection will include all manner of Star Wars details, from the fake DC Shoe stormtrooper-inspired TK number, “DC-043”, to iconic Star Wars quotes such as “May the force be with you” and “Do not underestimate the power of the dark side” translated into Aurebesh on several articles.
  • An X-wing inspired shoe features both a pocket containing a “Death Star plans” keychain and an R2-D2 hidden inside the heel, for the ultimate skating co-pilot.
  • The collection also includes designs for Rebel Alliance fans – in the iconic orange and white X-wing flight suit – and Dark Side designs in black and red.

What they say :

  • Clay Millsap, color and material shoe designer at DC Shoes: “Everyone on the team was excited – in fact, very excited. Star Wars has been a part of our lives for so long. It’s a dream project but also a challenge. We knew we had to honor the incredible legacy Star Wars and paying attention to detail that fans would appreciate, but we also knew we wanted to bring a fresh perspective. Offering both at the same time isn’t easy. Our brand is built on the idea of ’collision’ – in which we juxtapose concepts, materials, and aesthetics to create exciting products, content, and experiences,” notes Millsap. “We had to strike a balance between the literal and the abstract so that all the symbolism and beloved visual language manifest without becoming predictable.”
