The Hollister Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 2nd Annual Jersey, Jeans and Jackets on Friday, January 17 at the Chateau on the Lake Resort in Branson.

After a well-received inaugural party in 2019, event chair Julie Bolton said she knew she wanted to bring the event back and make it even bigger and better.

“Last year was great. It was so much fun. We planned it really quickly so this year we had a bit more time to plan, but last year was great and we we’re so much fun,” Bolton said. “One of the things we’re going to have is a mechanical bull. Last year we had a few games and such, but this year we’re going to have a mechanical bull and we’re going also have… a calf-stringing machine. So it should just be a ton of fun to have that there.

Bolton shared that attendees gave the chamber great feedback on their appreciation of the jersey, jeans and jackets theme.

“We wanted to get to where if someone wanted to come and wear jeans, that’s actually what our theme is about. It’s not really a black tie thing, it’s more of a laid back, laid back environment” , Bolton said.

“People were just saying they were so excited that they could just come and wear their jeans and their favorite team jersey, or jacket, and just be laid back. They were really excited about it.

Bolton added that another perk of this casual dress-up event is that attendees will likely already have the perfect outfit in a closet.

“You know you don’t have to go out and shop and buy, for the ladies, a new dress or, for the men, a suit and tie or a tuxedo,” Bolton said. “That was one of the most popular comments we got last year. That it’s a more laid back atmosphere and environment where they can come and just be laid back and have a good time.

Attendees will be treated to an elegant dinner, live and silent auction, raffles, and wine and whiskey tasting at the party. Bolton added that one of the most exciting parts of the event will be the lineup of great entertainment.

“Johnny Lonestar will be there and of course Jim Barber. I think we’re going to have a snippet of ‘Wicked’, so we’re thrilled about that. (Barber’s) with the arts council, so he’s bringing in artists to do that “Said Bolton. “We’re actually so excited this year to have Jason Pritchett.

“He will come and play too. Of course, it’s got a huge following, so we’re really excited to see that.

Tickets for the event are $60 and can be purchased online. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Childcare will be available during the event and participants who plan to spend the night at the Château sur le lac can benefit from a special rate.
