Allyson Felix breaks Olympic record for shoes she auctions for charity

Olympian Allyson Felix gets off to a good start with a bespoke sneaker from her new brand.

The olympic athlete just won the bronze medal in the women’s 400 meters at the Tokyo Olympics, her last Olympic competition, this morning. She is now the most awarded U.S. track athlete in games history – and tied with Carl Lewis for most Olympic medals won in track competitions by the U.S. team.

To celebrate his achievement, Felix is auctioning off their Saysh 0.07 Spike custom shoes. Felix, who wore the bespoke pair during the race, marks the first time an athlete ran in his own pointe shoes during competition. Felix’s Spikes will be auctioned off on Saysh’s website once the games are over.

The pair will also come with a unique NFT, created by Saysh as a unique digital artwork. Together, the proceeds from the shoes will be donated to the Power of She Fund. The Fund, created in partnership with the Women’s Sports Foundation and Felix brand sponsor, Athleta, provides resources for athletes who are mothers to compete to their full potential.

Next month, Felix will release three colourways of his Saysh One sneakers – white, black, and blue – which you can preorder for $ 150 on BySaysh.com. The Saysh One sneakers are not only designed for running, but also for everyday use, with woven fabric and microsuede uppers with a comfortable lacing system. They have been specially designed to fit women’s feet with more support and comfort, while still being stylish and stylish.

Saysh was created by Felix with women in mind, following a 2019 split with ex-sponsor Nike on maternity protections. Felix publicly launched the company last month, with his brother, Wes, as CEO.

“What Allyson experienced at Nike [with the lack of maternity protections] was really hard, and because of that feeling of feeling rejected, of feeling neglected, it was so important to focus only on women because we don’t want women to have that feeling, Allyson doesn’t want women have that feeling, â€Wes Felix had previously told FN.
