After stolen Hublot watch from Maradona, Assam police recover ‘more memorabilia’ including shoes, toys and iPad

Early Saturday morning the Assam police recover stolen Hublot luxury watch which belonged to the late football legend Diego Maradona from the residence of the accused in the district of Sivasagar. The accused, identified as Wazid Hussein, was arrested.

Assam Police Special Director General GP Singh took to Twitter on Sunday to report that “other memories have been recovered”, the origin of which has yet to be established.

Items recovered include a jacket, sweatpants, T-shirts, shoes, plush, squash rackets, watch, lighters, cap and iPad.

“The recovery was made on the instance of Wazid Hussein detained yesterday by the Sivasagar police,” Special DGP GP Singh said.

HUBLOT DE MARADONA WATCH

Police in Assam, in coordination with Dubai Police, recovered a stolen luxury watch that belonged to the late Diego Maradona on Saturday, police said.

After receiving a contribution from Dubai Police through a central agency, Assam Police arrested the accused at 4 a.m. on Saturday morning from his residence in Sivasagar, the director general of the police.

The accused allegedly stole the limited edition Hublot watch signed by Maradona while working as a security guard for a company that stored the late footballer’s belongings in Dubai. He then reportedly fled to Assam in August this year. Further investigation is underway.
